Things to avoid

  • Keep your baby away from cigarette smoke, dust, mould and other respiratory triggers, as these can aggravate the Reflux.
  • Reflux babies are often very sensitive and are startled easily by loud noises. Keeping a radio or TV on in the background will reduce the likelihood of the baby being startled by a loud noise.
  • Avoid over stimulating your baby. Excessive stimulation can worsen the Reflux episodes.
  • Avoid rough play and bouncing and handling, as this can worsen the Reflux. You might need to remind family and visitors of this.
